Johnny Choi

Johnny (Jongsu) Choi is a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and joined the Chen lab in the spring of 2019. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University in 2018. His research in the Chen lab focuses on two mains aspects: 1) understanding the role of non-coding regulatory elements in the human eye diseases and 2) applying spatial transcriptomics to understand cell organization of the retina on the subtype level.
